Dalton Manufacturer Taking Aim at A Greener Flooring Industry

 

 

It all started with a problem. Flooring installers across the country were having significant flooring failures when installing sub-floors with high moisture content. That is when Dennis Schlisner, CEO of Base King®, LLC, a local Dalton manufacturer, realized there had to be a solution. Base King®, LLC originally from Kennewick, Washington opened its primary manufacturing facility in Dalton in 2003. Many experts agree that PVC (polyvinyl chloride) plastic, commonly referred to as vinyl, the major ingredient in LVT(Luxury Vinyl Tile) and VCT(Vinyl Composition Tile)  and all vinyl flooring products, is one of the most hazardous consumer products ever created. PVC is dangerous to human health and the environment throughout its entire life cycle, at the factory, in our homes, in our workplaces and in the trash. When produced or burned, PVC plastic releases dioxins, a group of the most potent synthetic chemicals ever tested, which can cause cancer and harm the immune and reproductive systems.

 

Designed for high performance and durability EnviroHEALTH™ is the first 100% PVC-Free Resilient Floor to be completely manufactured in the United States of America. The hybrid flooring product eliminates 100% of the hazardous chemicals created by the manufacturing of vinyl flooring products. Currently available in 20 styles/colors, including 12 Wood Grains, the floor can be used in installations throughout almost all areas of active medical, commercial and retail facilities.

The 100% recyclable floor, available in Tile, Plank and Welded Sheet, is an aesthetically pleasing designer floor that also provides the durability for long term use in high traffic/high demand areas. Through an advanced manufacturing process EnviroHEALTH™ provides customers with the ability to print any pattern into the flooring product.  It also offers unprecedented scratch and dent resistance for a resilient floor.

 

EnviroHEALTH™ offers a completely VOC free installation experience with Base King’s  EnviroSTIX® Applied Poly-Acrylic Adhesive System. Pre-applied at Base King’s facility in South Dalton, the extremely moisture resistant, commercial grade adhesive is shipped “on-product” to the customer’s facility ready to install. The system eliminates the need for any high VOC liquid/bucket adhesives and eliminates leftover adhesive chemical waste. The adhesive also offers an immediate return to use for critical areas of an active commercial facility (No drying time necessary).
