3rd Annual Literary Celebration in Action!

The 3rd Annual Literary Celebration was a community wide event to promote literacy and reading to children of all ages. This year, over 600 people participated in the event. The literacy celebration engaged children by poetry and themed reading circles such as Harry Potter, Disney, The Cat in the Hat, Clifford, The Magic School Bus (lets not forget Miss Frizzle and her lizard Liz’s surprise appearance), Divergent, The Magic Tree house, Narnia, and many others; craft stations such as making book markers, book covers, piggy banks, and write your own story; games including  ABC bingo, and ABC Dr. Seuss golf; and vendors like Kool Smiles, North Georgia Regional Library, Cross Point Preschool, Health Care Partnership, United Way, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Big Red Reads, and others. There were also special guest appearances of storybook characters Woody from Toy Story, Superheroes Bat Man and Captain America, Clifford, Harry Potter and friends, Storm Troopers, Elsa from Frozen, Narnia, The Queen of Hearts, Cat in the Hat with Thing 1 and Thing 2, Mother Goose……too many others to name! Children also had a free pass to the splash pad and were provided with free healthy snacks! If you didn’t make it to this years Literacy Celebration, you missed out! Archway Partnership would like to thank everyone who was involved and sponsored the event to make it possible!
